Children of Tanzania was founded in 2003 to provide much needed support to children living in impoverished areas of Tanzania. While working in country, we have seen that education is vital to coping with everyday life and opens opportunities for future generations.
Because we believe that education can break the cycle of poverty, we focus on helping children access and stay within the educational system. There are many conditions affecting the ability of children to attend school.
Our projects target these issues while remaining focused on the educational needs of children. Our building projects have included classrooms, student bathrooms, teacher houses, school kitchens, wells and rain harvesting tanks. We also provide government mandated school uniforms, books, and all types of school supplies including desks and blackboards.
When we identify exceptional students who are unable to continue their education, we provide scholarships.
Our goal, in every project we under take, is to provide children with the possibilities for a successful future.
