Uniform Project

In Tanzania, children are required to wear uniforms to school. Without uniforms, education in not available. Many children in poor and rural areas cannot afford to purchase uniforms and therefore are not able to attend school. Others arrive in tattered uniforms that have been handed down through many generations. During the summer, Children of Tanzania journeys to Tanzania and measures children in targeted areas. We provide the children with uniforms including sweaters, belts and socks. Once the children are measured, we employ local tailors, providing much needed income to many local workers. The uniforms are distributed during the fall to a very excited and deserving group of children. These uniforms not only provide warmth the children have never known, but more importantly, an educational future and an improved self esteem.

Only $15.00 provides a school uniform. A uniform provides access to education.
Education provides a future.
